The Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford released their study today on the quality of worldwide broadband putting the UK in 25th place. The top place went to South Korea closely followed by Japan. They highlighted that average global download speed had increased from last year by 49% to 4.75 Megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speed had increased by 69% to 1.3 Mbps. Our country lacked the fibre network but looked ready to improve with BT next generation network rolling out over the coming years.
